What do y�all recommend for a mount beside the console. Have been looking at the ram RAM-D-111U-C mount but didn�t know if it was overkill for this unit. Let me know what you guys suggest please.

That RAM you specified is what I would recommend for a 9-inch unit (would also recommend it for a 7-inch unit as well). Certainly not overkill. You need that big base ball to eliminate any movement of unit in rough water when compared to the smaller base balls.
