Go to system status accessory screen and see if it shows temp is connected. Try Restore defaults, if that don't work then a good chance temp sensor on transducer may be bad

Probably the number one thing that I have found to fail or not read correctly on the transducer is the water temp reading. Normally, I have another unit on the boat whre it reads correctly so it was never an issue for me.

You may have select that as one of the readouts in the Setup menu.
Choose a position along the bottom of the screen and choose Temp for it.

Most of the time when I used that model, I just had three of the five readout boxes with digital data.

Just used two of the readouts with the 360:

I currently use the Helix 12 CHIRP SI GPS.
I have used the 1198c SI Combo, ONIX 10 SI, Helix 10 CHIRP DI+ GPS G3N, Helix 12 CHIRP SI+ GPS G3N, and SOLIX 12 SI.

Is there I big different between the 1198 and Helix unit with 360? I'm getting 360 but not sure which unit to us. Either going to be 1159, 1198, or Helix unit.

Screen width makes the difference using the Front View that I prefer.
Actually with a Helix 12, you can have Full 360 beside Chart or Sonar view and the 360 side will be the same size as it is on a 1100 series like this:

As far as clarity, is there a big difference between the 1100 series and Helix 12?

Yes, the Helix 12 has about double the display pixel density (more HD) than the 1100 series and is brighter.
