I have a Humminbind Helix 12 chirp with side imaging transducer mounted on the starboard side of my boat. I purchased a Garmin Echomap 93sv plus with sideVu and would like to also mount it on the transom. Can I mount it on the same side as the Humminbird side imaging transducer or should I mount it to the port side? Any info will be helpful. Thanks

On the same side one will probably block part of the other’s signal.

Don't mount on Port side due to prop wash interference.

If you have a Stepped Transom, you could mount it under the step and it would not interfere with the other transducer.

Thanks for your help guys.....I talked to Humminbird today and they told me that I could do it. They even said that they sell a cable for people that have to tilt their motor to see both sides of their side imaging. The cable allows these people to install a transducer on the starboard and a second on the port side. The starboard transducer does the side imaging to the right and the port does the side imaging on the left.

If you are using a 9 M SILR Y, 14 M SILR Y, MS SILR Y, AS SILR Y or the AS 14SILR Y with your Side Imaging unit, you are doing so because you are using two side imaging transducers. One on the left side of your boat, the other on the right side of your boat. Temperature and digital depth both come from the transducer mounted on the right side of the boat. If you own a MEGA Side Imaging unit, be sure your cable is a 9 M SILR Y for HELIX and a 14 M SILR Y for SOLIX.

Thanks again
