I had one early on when they first come out. I was not impressed with it and sold it to a bass fisherman friend.
A thumper works amazingly well if that is what you are looking for.

Familiar with the thumper & splasher. Just curious and trying to get feedback if the Hydrowave is effective for attracting/holding Whites/Strippers.

T'Bird, as you know, I offer on-the-water sonar training classes aboard my clients' vessels. Through the years I have had an opportunity to observe the Hydrowave in action dozens of times, primarily on the boats of bass tournament anglers. Bottom line: I did not see anywhere near the kind of interest in the Hydrowave compared to the attraction which splashers/thumpers produce when we searched for and found white bass during these clients' training sessions.

I'll go one further and tell you that I also believe the "thumper by speaker" approach, although of interest to whites & hybrids, is not as effective as an actual thumper. Two summers ago I actually dove down beneath my own boat while my wife remained in the boat and alternated between turning my thumper on and off and turning a speaker linked to a metronome program on my smart phone on and off. The thump from the thumper was much more distinct and far reaching than was the noise from the speaker-generated device.
