My HDs 8 went out last week so guess it time for a new one. Most of my fishing is for cats. I am not wanting to break the bank looking for at least a 8 inch screen with side imagining and sonar I have a Navionics chip I know there are a lot of new stuff on the market but really like to keep it simple

First, I am no expert on these. Second, I do not work for and have no sponsor or ties.

I have used older HB units, and fished with newer ones. Like their Side image. I currently have a 9" Lowrance TI2 Elite and it is ok. Also have a 10" Garmin. I like the ease of operation on the Garmin much better than the Lowrance. Understanding these are not the TOP of the line, they are pretty good units.

Bass Pro - Cabela's has a sale going right now, all brands. Prices on the Garmin are nice, with last years transducer... which was better than the one a couple of years before that, etc. If your unit was a few years old, then the newer will probably be better... just the way electronics work.

IF I were going to outfit a new boat right now, would probably do Garmin. But again, I want a little easier to use, vs. the top of the line that a professional would pay for and need.

Good luck.

2014 Premier Alante 235 RF tritoon. Momma's boat. But I get to fish on her.

A country boy will survive... but those who cross him?
