Anybody over in GA today to fish the TAA event on Lanier?

No practice, no waypoints, no scope, no 360. +\- 5k entry fee. 3 day event with a 4 hour ride around the day before it starts.

BPT has 80 anglers. BASS Elites have 100. If this hits 70-80 entries then it's somewhat impressive considering entry fee. Very little advertisement and promotion and still drawing that many is a win.

Hallman didn't fish this one?, guess he is out of the touring pro game, remember when he won that FLW on Lanier. Kinda felt the whole FFS push is what pushed him to retire early, he saw what was coming.

It’s unofficially neck and neck at the TAA

If those are all spots those are huge sacks! And with no scope, 360 and only gps coordinates gathered yesterday during their ride around. Pretty impressive

Once they get some sponsorship it will be interesting to see if any electronics manufacturers hop on board or if they stay away.

More proof that ffs isn’t hated as much as some claim.

Seems to me that it is more proof that there is just a very small percentage of anglers that want to participate in these high entry fee tournaments. The list of organizations that have tried them and failed grows every year.

Well it is called the TAA for a reason. It’s for heavy hitting touring anglers and deep pocketed locals, and some that really like to risk it for the biscuit. Pretty good payouts really. Top 20% at least doubled their money.

No disagreement here. But it takes a certain threshold of participation. Lots of anglers say they have interest in these things, but when it comes down to actually putting the money on the table the number of actual entries ends up being very low. The list of organizations that have been able to make these high entry fee trails (both team and individual) sustainable is very very short. I think it's a safe bet to assume that 47 entries is not sustainable. Maybe I'm wrong.

I hear ya, on BTL they said they had a bunch sign up, but pulled their names when it was time to pay up. Probably what Randy did.

Well they looked at the odds and getting beat by a pro doesn’t look that appealing for 5k. Make it 1500 bucks.

Why do the locals need to come off?

Honestly just because the convenience factor. If it wasn’t in their backyard, who knows if they would’ve fished it

Oh, I thought they were just making a list of anglers that would intimidate others that don’t want to compete against pros for that kind of money.

Besides lintner is from California, he lives there in Georgia.
