Any thoughts on good lakes for bluegill/bream fishing near DFW? Been fishing Ray Roberts for crappie and bass for over 20 years but it doesn't seem to be a good bream fishing lake for some reason, thought admittedly I haven't tried.

There are some videos on Youtube of a guy who catches bluegills on Lake Arlington the size of a dinner plate.
I come from the water.

May want to add your location. Many people are willing to help point you in the right direction. I have a few spots close to me in Prosper, but if you're closer to Arlington it may not be worth a trip.
Ray Roberts is good, but right now you want to find the warmer water. If I was targeting bluegill only I would hike along the tailrace portion below the dam and hit the Elm Fork. Some of the deeper holes or river bends hold a lot of bluegill.

They are everywhere, ponds in parks, creeks especially under roads/bridges. When you drive around just scout the area. Google maps really will make it simple.

I have seen videos on Youtube of dinner plate size bluegill being caught at Lake Arlington. They were the biggest bluegill I had ever seen.
I come from the water.

I can't find any YouTube videos of bluegill/sunfish on lake Arlington ? I couldn't find any either. I fished Lake Arlington, Village creek off of Lake Arlington to be specific, for white bass last month. I was curious about the bluegill as well. I asked one of the fellow fisherman and he said they have big bluegill on Lake Arlington. Considering we do so well on the other power plant lakes I would think it should follow suit. I know I will be trying it this spring. I know nothing about the lake or where to find them but I figured I would launch the kayak off the bank at Eugene McCray park and fish around the island and coves my first trip. Unless somebody ones to share some secrets

bluegills and other sunfish species are abundant in North Texas, providing excellent fishing opportunities. Let’s explore some details about bluegill fishing in this region.
Lake Conroe: Located just north of Houston, Lake Conroe is a 20,000-acre reservoir on the West Fork of the San Jacinto River. It consistently produces bluegill and redear sunfish in the 8- to 10-inch range.
Guadalupe River: The Guadalupe River is known for its clear waters and offers great bluegill fishing. During the annual spawn (when water temperatures approach 70 degrees in late spring), bluegill move into the shallows and aggressively feed.
Lady Bird Lake: Lady Bird Lake (formerly Town Lake) in Austin is another hotspot for bluegill. Anglers can catch bluegill close to shore without needing a boat.
Caddo Lake: Caddo Lake, straddling the Texas-Louisiana border, is famous for its cypress trees and diverse fish population. Bluegill thrive in its waters, especially during spawning season.
The San Marcos River, with its crystal-clear flow, provides an ideal habitat for bluegill. Fly fishing for sunfish is popular here, especially in the Hill Country rivers and streams.
Calaveras Lake: Calaveras Lake, near San Antonio, offers good bluegill fishing opportunities. Anglers can use simple techniques like dangling a worm on an Aberdeen hook below a cork.
Wheeler Branch Reservoir: Wheeler Branch Reservoir in the Dallas area is stocked with bluegill. It’s a great spot for family fishing outings.

This time of year, go fish any feeder creek on Lake Lewisville. Don't be afraid to get back into the skinny water with deep pockets, they love bedding down there. I keep it simple with a bobber, tiny hook and powerbait crappie nibbles.
