Got to the lake at 7:30 hoping to put a few crappie slabs in the cooler and spend some time looking for the bluegill staging areas. Water was calm and in the mid 60's but after a couple of hours, the lake was producing white caps. Fished 4 brush piles catching 42 and keeping 21 for the frying pan. Checked several sunfish areas where I caught them in the past, but nothing was there. Left the lake at 10:30.

WTG Zane...Awesome catch ! Now do you believe me...the gils are almost impossible to find on FCL & Decker... until they start spawning.

Wow!!! Great job!!!

I've caught a few around the deep canes along the bank. Did you try any of the shallower areas?

Thanks everyone for the replies.
Jamie- I did scan a couple of shallow areas with livescope and didn't see anything.
Gar - I read an interesting article regarding lake fishing for bluegill. Author was a fishing guide on a lake up north on Michigan (I believe). He said bluegill can be found near weed beds with soft bottom pre spawn. One of these days, I'll figure it out.
