How to open up the skirts take both ends of the skirt in your fingers and run over that edge of a simi sharp board I use one for my vise. Run it back and fourth a half dozen time ans it will puff out when you hold one end.

Nice! I gotta try that.! I've been so wrapped up making Frankenstein (hybrid) soft plastics, I haven't given skirted lures a thought. Time to have fun catching bass and picks on them.
