I am curious what live perch options are near lake Tawakoni. I am potentially looking to get 300-400 anywhere from 2-6" early May. Tyler fish farm is a bit out of the way from where I am traveling from, but seems like the best option at this point for the price. Any other local live perch options near Tawakoni is much appreciated! (Fish N Store said I could get them there with a week notice, and are roughly $1 per. Hoping I can get that unit price down a bit if I am going to get 300-400. They also looked to be all bream species, which isn't my preferred perch. Not as hardy compared to coppernose bluegil, sun perch, warmouths, hybrids, etc.)

Yeah, I will definitely be poling/trapping as many as I can before placing an order somewhere for the remainder. Planning on running lines pretty hard all weekend on the lake.

Man I don’t know anywhere you can find perch. Should be able to get all the sunfish you want in a local creek though. Assuming you’re wanting big ones your best bet is to run traps and fish some creeks feeding the lake. You’re not gonna find much less than $1/piece, best I’ve seen is about $12/lb and they were on the small side. I’ve never noticed a discernible difference in species to be honest. I’ve caught fish on longears, redears, bluegill, green sunfish and warmouth. Might consider goldfish if you don’t want to run traps and catch them. The big shiners you can order online might also be a good idea.

We’ll everybody had lots of boat problems including myself but we all managed to bring in some fish . Nothing to big 8lbs was the biggest fish .
They seemed to like cut shad and little smokies this go around . Had us a big fish fry and put up a few quart baggies for the freezer . How did you do heath ?
