Targeting springtime crappie, sunfish and bass it's hard to beat the popper dropper! There's lots of ways to rig up a popper-dropper but this is my special version of the popper. results

What is the purpose of the swivel? Adds a little weight to the back of the popper and allows for a step down to lighter line with better knot strength mostly. Another advantage is anti-twist.. a fly will often helicopter and the swivel will help remedy that problem. This is most useful for subsurface flys like clousers during the whitebass run..

Thanks, did learn quite a bit watching the video.
Instead of the swivel, why not add a twist or so of lead wire to the hook where the swivel is? Would be more weedless.
