actually I did get a reply from Bass Champs...
here it is and my response...
Bass Champs reply:
The contest is for “The Exact Weight”. We do not award the sunglasses for the closest guess.
Its been the exact weight for TFF Guess the Weight for the past 15 years.

just a suggestion but i think you would generate a lot more entries and interest if you awarded a pair to the entry closest to winning weight ......but as mentioned on the fishing forum,you got one the smartest use of advertising dollars I've ever seen....you get 500-100 views by your target audience and give away a pair of $10.00 (manufactors cost) every 5 years....

Bear trap- did you consider that they fully understand what they are doing? It’s borderline insulting to their intelligence to say “have you considered this”- like they never have…. It comes across as just a complaint about a free giveaway more than it does a constructive suggestion IMO.

No one in the history of the world has plunked down a $300 entry fee because that trail gives away a pair of sunglasses to some rando on a fishing forum. And no one as ever thought, If they just gave them to the closest guess, I would pay that entry fee, but not if someone has to guess the exact weight." This has to be a joke.
