I know Nightcrawlers are proven performers however when does the Red Wiggler make a better choice?

Thanks, Robert

I have used both but like the Nightcrawlers the best. The Nightcrawlers have a thicker body and are longer. You can break them apart and get more bait for the money. They also seem to make a better target on the hook due to the thicker body. Just my two cents. 2cents

Side Note: I have used the Red Wigglers, Grub Worms, worms dipped in corn meal, and even the worms that glow in the night, all with good results. However it seems that the plain old Nightcrawler overall works best for me! hooked

Me too.

Finesse plastics on light jigs get it done sometimes better than live bait much of the time. The Crappie Magnet soft plastic lure rigged on a 1/132 oz jig worked slowly, catches pretty much everything.

The red wiggler worms are not big enough for me. I like to use a whole nightcrawler on a 2-hook rig. You never know what you will catch.

I'll stray from consensus and say that I actually prefer the red wiggler. I'm usually putting the worm on a tiny jig head and working it back, so I like the extra movement you get from the more slender profile.

The Night crawler & the Red Wigglers are both stout performers but The little CATALPA worm,IMHO, is the BEST fishing worm God has ever created. azn
