Noticed earlier today it was back down to 161 cfs on the Graford gauge. I called Rochelles and they opened up yesterday for the first time since it hit the fan.

Any reports as to how the high flows effected the GA/toxicity below PK? Did it spred it, dilute it?

I was going to go the the Kiamichi this weekend but they're calling for lots of rain up there. That's no problem for me but I'm taking someone with me and I want them to have a good trip. So I thought I might try the Brazos below PK, but I'm afraid there might be silt and mud and debris all over everything.
Hey, I know. One of yall go float that stretch of river and get back with me and let me know how it looks.

Unless you are wearing a grass skirt and sleeping in a ditch and eating only road kill, you too are part of 'the problem'.

I suggest anyone headed to that locale perform their due dilligence. The levels will be fluctuating from 200 to 8000 plus CFS almost instantly.

What website are you using Shane? I'm checking this one - http://waterdata.usgs.gov/tx/nwis/uv/?site_no=08088610&PARAmeter_cd=00065,00060
It showed 161 cfs this a.m. and is now at 179cfs. I've been checking it all day and it's only fluctuated slightly downward at one point. hmmm

I just checked the flows from BRA's website and the river is flowing around 180 CFS. Brazos below granbury appears to going to down as well. Should be a nice weekend.

According to Brazos.org it has been about 160-200 cfs since they closed the gates on April 24.

They will open 1 flood gate tomorrow morning Friday April 30, releasing 8,700 cfs for about 6 hrs. It says for more information call 888-922-6272

I did not see any dead fish or see anyone catch stripers. I saw Kayak and Boat fishermans, they all said they were skunked. Maybee they lying to me? I don't know. Channel cats here and there but little.

I fished from a canoe with only artificials. That alone I know is the wrong way to fish Brazos River lol. I did land a few sandbass though. I saw a bunch of Carp, gar and schools of sandies in the shallows.

Just got back a few hours ago. First day they opened a gate about an hour after we launched. It was nice to catch it high for once, but it hurt the fishing. The next day after it went down I fished artificials back against the banks, in the eddys, the backwaters left over from the dam release, and up Eagle Creek. Zip, Zero, Nada. We camped two nights. Mostly I paddled up and down the river and enjoyed the scenery. Overall it was a great trip, but next time I'll go in the middle of the week. Too many dern folks there on the weekend.

that area at this time of year usually produces tons of bass. I guess the bloom has affected it.
