The fishing at CCL is really happening. Sat. was fishing the docks in 5-7 foot of water and got on to some nice 1 1/2- 3 pound catfish, 4 pound drum, several sand bass, 10" black bass and 1 crappie. Sun. was a drift fishing day the first part and my son landed 2, 3-4 pound cats, after that died down we went back to the docks and got on them cats and drums again. This was my son's first real go at kayak fishing with me and he really had a blast, we took out the tandem hobie that day.
I just mounted my W/S Ride with a humminbird depth finder and really enjoy seeing what I was fishing in and around. Very easy to get this system hooked up. The total set up cost me $120.00 is all.
Yes Gator, that was me out there around my docks. Too bad you could not have joined me out there. I was going to hit your side of the lake but the Causeway store was closed when I went by there. So I went to old faithful Wally at the bait bucket and set in. See you out there this weekend maybe.

This week I'm kind of busy with graduation (my daughter) and work but we'll get it together some day soon. I actually am thinking about the south central to south part of the lake, maybe launch at Don's Port or even Star Harbor. I'll get back to you.

Come visit us at texaskayakfishing.com sometime.

Hope everything is ok with the family and the accident. I launched at Don's one time and did not like the set up out there as far as getting in and out of the ramp area. But I will go back at some point to try it it out. Thanks for the TKF invite, but I am not too up on that site. I like this site a whole lot better, it is growing very good. I would like to see more fishing reports from the yak'ers here though. Kayak fishing is really growing and we should be showing the boaters that we are catching good fish from the yaks also. Hope to see ya out on the water soon, Randy
