Bois D Ark is going to be the next HOT Lake for years

I've been twice.
Friday great day spent over half scanning the terrain. We ending up with 37 bass up to 5 lbs. Most are 2 to 3 lbs. Channel cats are Spawing and biting chatterbiats and jigs and worms. 10 lb Channel are fun and good eating.
Those bass would eat anything if you get it in front of them.

Yesterday was epic. We had around 75 bass. 4 - 5 lbers. 1 6 lbers better quality than Friday. Many anglers came to ask how we are ripping those lips off. Humm, fishing hard and not just testing waters. We found a pattern and kept to it. The 6 lber was bedding. The spawn seems to be multiple species. Bream, shad, Bass, tons of crappies. If you scope a tree its alive with crappie. We never caught one but they did pull our plastic baits.
Fins those areas nobody if fishing. Find them and have fun. Ill be out agian before this rian comes in this weekend. WORK NEEDS TO TAKE A BACK SEAT. 😆

New lake with unpressured fish that have never seen a bait and everyone is a pro.......... sounds like Cooper, Chambers, Fork and Ray Roberts.
Only one of those lakes has stood up to time.

I’m guessing bassattackman (Rocky), lives near one or more heavily pressured LMB fisheries.

As for fishing a new lake, I fishedFork the day it opened . From a canoe. 8,500 acres at the time and we had to launch from the 154 roadbed.

We caught over 100 bass that day. Mainly on Strawberry/Silver flake curly-tail worms. 1-4 lbs.. and did it for awhile.

Only NEW Texas lake I’ve ever fished that didn’t [censored] the bed after 10 years and NONE are still relevant.

Only time will tell… Fork, Cooper, and Joe Pool didn’t grow up in the social media age with people making videos showing exactly where to go and what baits. There also wasn’t satellite imagery and mapping tools that we have today or the numbers of people fishing… the sport has grown exponentially. I hope BDA hold up to the test of time and pressure, it’s a cool little lake and so far I’ve enjoyed exploring it.

went there yesterday (wednesday) and the morning was tough. Only had 7 the first 5 hours, then it rained on us... after that we had 25-30 in the next 2 hours before I had to leave to pick up my kids... Seems like the afternoon bite has been better from who ive talked to and yesterday seemed to continue that trend.

1 6lber, the rest were 1-3 lbs. Big ones tend to be hard for me to find everywhere though

I went this morning and posted on one of the other Bois D'arc threads. One thing I forgot to mention in that post is this lake has a lot more clarity, it's not gin clear but seems to have more clarity than the average lake in northeast Texas. It's more like Sandlin as far as clarity.

How is running it? Is it stumpy-are there boat lanes??

It's pretty much wide open with some brush in the back of the coves from what I've seen. It is obvious they built it for pleasure boating as its priority. After it gets all the development around it it will be like fishing in a washing machine in the summer months.

Fished twice in the last week and a half and had over 20 one day and 14 the other.

And they passed by some good fishing to get there.

I think Ralph Hall will bigger and better. Lets hope they finish it in the next 2-3 years.

So innocent question; other then maybe a few fish dying after being released why would a new lake that has a 16" max limit to keep turn bad in a few years?

I haven't been there but sounds like there's good spawning habitat, and good offshore structure for them to chill and feed in the summer. Why would the population/fishing suffer?

I mean if it's clearer water and heavy fishing pressure they might get tougher to catch, but they should still grow well and be there right? Unless there's not enough forage?

Water level stability will determine how well that lake holds up. A small watershed and a big pipe to the metro mess doesn’t work in its favor. Throw in a prolonged drought and it can get ugly pretty quick. Could be great or could be Cooper 2.0.

Too many will need a self-stroke and have to publish reports and pics and be an internet pro to stroke their ego. Go now before it’s beat to death.

Lake will be "decent" for a few years. Right now 15-25% of the water from 0-15 feet deep is totally inaccessible and many fish will live there unmolested. The combination of a drought and the super pipe will negate that natural barrier and that could produce a Cooper 2.0 in the future. Only time will tell

Luckily Bois D Arc is much deeper than Cooper. Max depth 15 to 20' deeper and average depth 12' deeper.....according to TP&W

Also the parts of the lake I have been on seem to have a lot steeper slopes and less of the long shallow taper depth changes

There’s bass clubs that fish fork twice a week that the entire club is not weighing in those numbers.

Bois D'arc does remind me a lot of Pines with it's contours for sure.

Sinkey sounds like a club for you to fish to school those boys. Could be some extra bait $$$ for sure.
