Loading the dishwasher talk

Forgive me if we have already covered this. If we have I missed it. When you are putting cups and glasses on the top rack of the dishwasher, are you supposed to put them in between the fingers or on top of them?

I will have a follow up question about Tupperware type of containers on the bottom rack in a bit.

I use the 'fingers' as a support for anything going in the dishwasher....top or bottom rack. If they fit between them great. If not they fit over a couple and between others. I've experienced stuff flying around the inside so I'm more careful

Which direction do you put utensils in the utensil basket? Handle up or handle down?

both depends on what I am loading in it.

I am single and the heat helps sanitize the dishes.

Does anyone put dishes half as dirty in the dishwasher as they do on detergent commercials? I pretty much wash the dishes before i put them in the dishwasher.

When you live alone a dishwasher is a waste of space. I use mine to store seldom-used plasticware.

Those commercials are , ain’t no dishwasher detergent combo that works like that

Maybe if you turn it on right then before the food has time to dry on the plate. The other thing they won’t tell you is a bunch of food scraps will ruin your dishwasher.

I have installed 5 here at the ranch over the yrs. the last pr. about 5 yrs. ago, just found out they have a skinny top 3rd rack for utensils 2 yrs. ago.

I'll scrape off stuff, but no I don't rinse or wash the dishes before putting them in the dishwasher that's it's job.

Load the dishwasher a few times, your Wife will tell you how it should be done, load it wrong some more, your Wife will get aggravated with you, and you can let her load it from then on. There is no way for a man to properly load it.

Mine broke and the back up has a whining noise. Will look around on sunday for a new one.
