Fully autonomous delivery trucks. - 04/25/24 06:46 PM

I just passed my first 100% driverless vehicle. A big ol box truck. Said “Gatik…we go the middle mile…autonomous delivery”

It was driving ok, but I AINT COOL WITH THIS!!!!

What happens when it breaks down? Has a blowout?

They probably have a truck on its way to fix it as fast as if it had a driver.

Duh. So does this thing go “damn….that’s a blowout….I need to pull over to the shoulder and possibly exchange insurance information for tearing up someone’s car” or…even better, does it just keep driving sending tire shards everywhere? Maybe it just stops and sits in the middle lane of 5 lane highway while it waits on the human to come fix the thing.

I'm sure it has many sensors in it to avoid collisions. Next time, mess with by swerving into it's lane or brake check it to see what it will do.

I’m sure this will have a negative effect on sweatpants and flip flop sales.

Plenty of truck drivers struggle with this as well…

As long as it’s smart enough to not roll three-wide with two other douche autonomous drivers all rolling 59-61mph on the interstate, I couldn’t care less what the downsides were

We should put this technology into trains and airplanes and focus on teleportation.

I would have, but I was pulling the boat to work. I was gonna cuss and flip em off, but no one was there to receive my award for driving 55 in the right lane and not switching to the middle lane as cars were trying to merge.
