Saw $50k added to MSRP Today!

Today, while at a local dealer, I saw a window sticker on a NEW Chevrolet that had a $50k Market Adjustment added to the MSRP price of $130k.

$130k+ $50k=$180k Final Price! All I could do was shake my head.

Is Chevy building houses or something now?

That is way excessive, and I bet it didn't even have a trailer hitch on it.

It is just the principle of adding a market adjustment to the MSRP price that I don't agree with. This is a free country and they can choose to ask what ever they want and this old man can choose to not do any business with them.

This is a free country, correct. That's why we're allowed to poke fun at greedy dealers jacking up prices.

The economy is in the krapper and interest rates are through the roof. I can’t imagine what is holding the auto industry up. I hope it comes crumbling down around them.

Sometimes we forget that it is our money and we still get to choose if we will let if loose for that price or buy something else. The more people pay any of these types of fees, the higher the prices rise. If you are willing to buy it, that's your choice. I still come from an age where I pay less than list, not more than list.

My sil has a 2021 in his carport. They are building a shed to store it in as we speak.
Its only got a couple thousand miles on it.
I did not know it was a redeye till he mentioned it.

I believe it is starting to happen. Lots of people that bought when dealers were adding a markup are now upside down.

Starting to see some $10k-$12k discounts off MSRP at a few local dealers. Interest rates are easing down some too.
