thumb I even started using a bobber stopper on all of my rigs including weightless rigs, topwaters, chatterbaits and spinnerbaits and crankbaits. Just a little bit of knot protection against hitting wood or rock.

Makes sense

The clacker goes between the hook and the bead. The clacker (some of them) have a larger hole on one side that is designed to protect the knot and the other side is what the bead hits to make noise.

If you place a weight stopper above and below a weight you can easily slide the weight up and you have a Carolina rig and vise versa

It protects the knot from the weight. you can also raise the weight up your line to allow your bait to float off the bottom.

A pegged weight above the hook isn’t a Carolina rig, but I see what your implying.

I use the rubber tooth pick style of rubber weight stoppers to secure a weight. I like them better than the bobber stoppers.

Me too. Pull em tight and use line clippers to make them flush with the weight. About once a month, I use a drill to clean em out.

Why can’t you put a tungsten weight, brass clacker, glass bead?

If you did it your way you would break the glass bead and cut your line while you protect the knot with the clacker…

I would skip the clacker and bead personally.
