7’ medium heavy power/Mod fast action Falcon
8.2:1 reel

Curious what y’all think this setup would be well fitted for?

I’d throw moving baits with it.

Swim jigs, spinnerbaits, buzz baits, small boot tail swimbaits, chatter baits. You could probably use it to rip traps in the the grass.

You could probably drag bottom contact baits with it as well, but I prefer a faster tip for that…

That really is a very versatile all around rod.

The reel might be a bit fast, you can easily reel certain baits too fast and kill their action, but you can work around that.

Which medium/heavy rod is it, what is the ending lure rating 3/4 or 1 oz. , that will make a difference in the technique you use it for. For me it would not be a heavy enough action or long enough for punching grass.

I agree with this...my original response was faulty in that I overlooked the "medium" part of the OP's post and my response was based on the rod being a heavy, not medium heavy...

Is that the “all-around” rod? If so, it is good for most shallow to mid depth moving baits. It’s kinda heavy for a technique that needs sensitivity.
