I’m a pretty decent shade tree mechanic when it comes to mowers, older tractors, chainsaws, weed eaters, and generators. I do my best work after about 8+ beers Mostly because I speed things up by just using starter fluid on everything no matter the issue. That being said, take this from a pro. When you drink and work on things use your phone and take pictures thru the process.

The z connections that attach the throttle cable is what usually throws me.
