I'm just curious if anyone has tried this and if it works or why it doesn't. Say your fishing some deep water structure and it's a little windy that was my theory that this might work. I don't wanna go out and waste time if someone has already tried this. Any info would be much appreciated.

I've tried with the worm rigged wacky and at split shot about 2 ft up from the hook. It's worked before.

I have some deep water structure that I wanna focus a lot of time on. Thought it would be a good idea. No bobber stopper just free. How was the bite and did it mess with u r hook set any.

I can see it working but I think you would have a problem with slack in your line, and if wind is the reason, wind would blow your line/bobber too much causing you to miss bites....I could see it working in less than 6 FOW but deep structure would be a challenge...IMO

When it's windy, if I'm fishing deep, I just increase my weight....the bite will still be there but the heavier weight will help you keep your line taught...

best use I saw for a slip bobber recently was a bassresource article suggesting using it on a weightless/wacky worm (senko) rod when back boating with a quicker fisherman working the TM so you can pitch it to a hole and let slack line out still letting it drop if he's moving along too fast. I really liked that suggestion a lot!
