Sad to say but you will just have to pass them and move on

I'm past the age of having kids in school but it seems to me there is too much emphasis placed on teaching and passing tests such as the STAAR and not enough on actual learning. I know that the A&P (airframe and powerplant) schools are turning out grads that can pass the written test but struggle once they hit the workforce and have to use skills they should have acquired to produce. I realize testing is needed to validate knowledge but when learning becomes more about passing tests than gaining skills then the cart is far ahead of the horse.

my daughter has made straight A's in every class
her entire career
she took pride in being a scholar
she is a Senior
no prom
no graduation
she is getting the shaft

if the family cannot afford an I-Pad
get tools & go to work
forget about learning Shakespeare
