Legitimate question!

It does seem as we have eradicated the flu for the past month.

We’ve averaged right around 380 flu deaths per day this flu season. Even if we had 380 flu deaths yesterday misdiagnosed as Coronavirus, that means we still had over 620 Coronavirus deaths yesterday. 620 is still deadlier than the deadliest flu death day in recent history as far as I can find.

I know people that have the flu this year but none of them died. My doctor tells me how many people the flu kills every year to convince me to get a shot but flu deaths are not typically front-page news.

There is money in CV, money for the states specifically. Wonder how much of the $2,000,000,000,000 will go unaccounted for?JMO

One thought that comes to mind is that many were yelling we were headed towards the same fate as Spain and Italy. According to numbers and reports today both show signs of levelling off and possibly trending downward. I am curious if that narrative changes now if that trend continues?

If we have a sudden drop off, and a week or 10 days from now we’re under 100 deaths a day, And a couple weeks later it’s all but gone, I’ll be first in line to say we over reacted. But, it’s extremely likely that had we don’t nothing and not quarantined it would have been exponentially worse.

That all being said, I still think we’re over 1000 deaths a day a week from now.

Do you still believe the 100,000-240,000 projections within the next month are accurate?

No, but I’ve always thought that amount was way too high. I think we would have easily seen those numbers with out the quarantines. I’m absolutely not a dr or scientist, but if Vegas was taking bets on it, I’d put money on 50-60k deaths by May 1.

Oh no! I'm calling in sick.

If the numbers are high, we'll hear that nobody followed the precautions. If the numbers are low, we'll hear how lucky we are that everyone followed the precautions. Either way, the fear mongers will claim they were correct and didn't over-react.
