Hit big Sam this weekend with a friend from Ft Worth. We started in mud creek and found them up shallow running shad we had about 40 fish in an hour then it tailed off. Most were in the 3-6 pound range and they were fat! Left there about 10 and hit the back of Harvey creek and we’re picking up 2 pounders here and there hit Indian with all smalls then up by Jackson again smalls maybe 2 that kept.
Sunday went back to mud and it was on again, this time they were actually schooling on top still up shallow and we caught 27 in about 30 minutes then it died. It was fun while it lasted. Decided to head to Veach to work some points. Picked up a few spots about 11 we headed over by the island, first cast netted a 3 then I hear my friend cuss looked back to see what was going on. He said he just cast over by a stick up and clicked the reel over when it decided to take off out of his hand. I wanted to laugh out loud but kept it inside( it’s happened to me before several times). We spent the next hour dragging the bottom trying to snag his line.

I'll give ya some props Farrside! That's a great two days. I was there a week ago Tuesday for about 6 hours and we probably had 40 or so, but nothing over 2.5 pounds.
