Anyone using the megajaws and speed demons? At $120 these seem to have good reviews. Any experience to add?

Got two of the very early speed demons.
One was good. The other was “grindy” out of the box. Because one of them was grindy out of the box, I never had full confidence in the other and stopped using it. I ended up trading both into BPS during the Spring classic days sale and got two BPS Carbonlite 2.0 reels instead. They are great.

The ball bearing number is meaningless marketing and having a really high gear ratio is overrated.
Kast King are good at marketing and you might get lucky with a good one.

When I just got back into bass fishing I bought one of their $20 spinning reels. It worked fine while I had it, which was under a year. Ended up giving it to someone.

They used to sponsor a bunch of YouTubers. None of them are around anymore, except one, and he doesn’t even mention them at all.

I bought one of the early baitcaster reels along with one of their rods. The reel felt cheap and flimsy with its plastic frame. Even for, like $40 it wasn’t worth it. Returned both before even spooling it up.

I bought a megajaws with 9.1:1 ratio back in 2020. I used it for two years with no issues. Back then it was one of, if not the fastest retrieves. The thumb bar sticks a bit now. I don't use it as much but it's still good.
