Based on my experience, I really cannot disagree here.

“ A new study reveals that nearly 75 percent of managers of business leaders say that Gen Z — anyone born from 1997 onward — are "more difficult to work with than other generations."

“ A number of managers also agreed that Gen Z workers lack communication skills, effort, motivation and even technological skills.”

2 of my three younguns were snatched up quick by big companies right out of college and at a very decent starting salary. Big companies seem anxious to lock up perspective good employees

Based on my experience, many of them also lack basic customer service skills.

The term Gen Z workers is an oxymoron in itself.

Whether you think you can or you can't, you're right

I agree. Gen Z's work? Who knew? I think the Gen Z workforce consists of TexDawg's two kids, an Asian girl in Ohio, and one recently graduated guy in Pocatello.

I have found them to be smart and hardworking, but bot fun ti be around. They are very quiet, they never talk. At a training event a while back, then new hires were good but silent learners. They dissappear as soon as the work day ends. Instead of having dinner in the bar with everyone else, they make sandwiches in their hotel room. I can understand if they don't like older people (don't trust anyone over 30), but they don't even hang out with each other.

Okay, I admit it, it's MY fault, my generation!

I am a Generation X.
(I've never been married or had kids, but I'm talking in general about my group).

Gen X decided that it/we would protect and coddle our kids at all costs, and WE made a mistake of not teaching our kids about personal responsibility and consequences. Hence, we raised the millennials...YIKES!

The Millennials are now parents raising kids. They are raising Gen Z!

Wow! What a nightmare.

Generation X was the last generation to be truly taught discipline and responsibility by the BBoomers, but we failed our kids.

Colleges and schools also had a big part in teaching young people to whine, cry, be offended, disrespect authority, deny and try to change history, etc., and then there is social media.
Social Media is the Debil!

Therefore, in a nutshell, the millennials and Gen Z are "almost" an absolute waste. I care about them, but too many of them have been taught over the last 20 years that the U.S. and its philosophy are wrong, and by God, they are going to change things!

Ironic, many of them don't believe in God anymore.
Blessings to us all in this cold, hard world. We need it! IN65

...+++

My Grandson was born in 2000, there couldn't be a finer young man. There have been good and bad in all generations, the 2nd. Had one brother murdering another.

Based on my experience, they are great. They're eager, know more advanced technologies, polite, and professional. Granted, I haven't hired anyone with less than a master's degree in the last 10 years, but the only problem so far is the lack of historical knowledge and experience working with specific data types.

What a maroon!

We have 228 student employees in our department and don't get me wrong, we have a few that are lazy, but for the most part, they are just inexperienced...the biggest issue I have seen is actually with the supervisors not knowing how to communicate with them and/or relate to them. Yeah, they communicate differently, but that can easily be overcome if you try. Both sides need to learn and put forth effort. Plus, they are so used to finding shortcuts in games, they can usually find ways to do tasks faster...just give them a chance.

Yep. I don’t know why people don’t understand this

Social media has replaced hanging out with people and talking. When you see high schoolers at the bus stop, they're all texting on their phones. Nothing wrong with it, but it is a different world than what I grew up in.
