I don’t have a dog in this fight whatsoever but generally speaking when you purchase a property that sets the value or at least very close. Todd paid over $100mm. I am picking the State will pay a bit over that to get the deal done…but we will see soon enough.

I will absolutely defend him . He's a businessman that bought a property that was for sale. He did nothing wrong. The state is the bad guy in this whole deal. They had the chance to buy and didn't. If the state wants the land it will belong to the state after the proper procedures are completed.

If that happens Todd and whomever else he is in business will likely be nicely compensated.

It's got nothing to do with being a "Todd supporter". It's about right and wrong. The land was for sale and Todd bought. It's wrong for the state to take it unless they want to pay him whatever he wants for it.

Probably because like every other shady deal, it takes a while to expose and unravel. Like I said from day one, Todd's behavior just wasn't adding up. From all the confidentiality in the early stages, to turning down the 25 million to walk away, then the water rights related scam with his LLC's to sell water. The whole exclusive community for the rich, around an abandoned power plant, out in the middle of BFE, never made any sense. Then I guess he launched the PR campaign as a distraction? (radio, courthouse steps speech, free BBQ, Grand Champion Steer and construction video) all the while trashing Buccee and TPWD for wanting the 50 yr old park back. Maybe local officials were blinded by greed and Chinese snake oil?

Now this crazy story has made it on to Breitbart.com and a few other conservative outlets. The whole thing is truly a nightmare on all sides.

As what I am sure is a complete coincidence, they just opened a new Chinese restaurant in Fairfield at the fork in the road on the way to the lake.....lol
