Hi there.

Hope all is well. As someone who doesn't have a boat, is there such a thing as a fishing tournament from the bank/shore? Land-based tournaments, are they a thing? Not sure how to search for them, everything coming up is for boats

Thanks
Happy Angling

I don't have the answer to that question with regard to fishing from the bank/shore. However, i you are speaking to participating in a bass tournament without a boat, you can certainly find a bass club to join where you can participate as a non-boater. Further, if you are a member of a Texas Bass Nation (TBN) affiliated bass club, you can fish the appropriate TBN regional trial as a non boater and you will be paired with a boater at each of the regional tournaments where you can qualify as a non boater for that regional championship, which could lead to you qualifying for the BASS Nation Super regional and/or national championship, which could lead to the Bass Master Classic. If you are not talking about bass fishing, then I apologize for the long winded answer, which I will revise to say confused 3

I'm new to all this but a lot of these tournaments are team events. I'm a new boat owner but dont know any of the lakes yet either If a tournament looked interesting maybe post asking if a new boater is looking for an experienced co-angler. If i was already planning to fish that event I would want an experienced co-angler on board to help me find some spots / know local waters.
