Hookem, so you don't make the trip from Quinlin up towards the dam? Never fished Austin, but Travis is so low I gotta try it.

Haven't spent hardly any time north of Quinlan only because the catching was too good south of Quinlan. Since the loss of grass, we haven't spent hardly any time on Austin except a few night trips.

Thanks bud. I'm still gonna give it a shot. Headed to Bastrop tomorrow. Been several years since I've been out there.

Didn't see this. Launch at Quinlan it's free and safe. Something to remember the water that comes out of the dam is cold(er), when I fished LA there were stories of bass spawning in August up lake down from the dam.
Pre Carp I fished it 5 days a week if one spot didn't yield just move a ways. The last time I fished LA it had turned into a rock & dock lake, water clarity was totally different and my patch of lily pads were gone.
No doubt there's still good fish in the lake maybe not as many.
I really enjoyed fishing that lake...man and his infinite wisdom.

There was a few wakeboats and jetskis but not that bad, but fishing was absoltuely brutal. Only caught two keepers.
