I only ever buy used trucks. Never had any kind of problems like this. Also never had any problem selling them for what I got in them because I either get a great deal or don't buy it.

It’s been at the RAM dealer Demontron Conroe for two weeks. Bumper to bumper is expired on time. Now on the 5/60 power train warranty. Evidently it had some significant warranty work on it at about 20,000 miles in Louisiana at Allstar RAM in Denham Springs. Apparently according to Demontron the work was done incorrectly. Issues with several of the injectors and they also crushed the oil fill tube. They are working with RAM and Allstar on getting the issues taken care of. Should be covered under warranty but we shall see. No telling on how all this works out. Zero codes on the truck and it still had issues that were most apparent at 1700 to 1800 or so rpm.

Should have brought a Ford. Last 5 trucks were Ford. Never took one in for warranty work or had any issue under 100,000 miles.

I had good luck with Ford as well, but all can have issues. I wonder if a previous owner of your ram might have put DEF in the fuel tank, might explain some of the problems.

Hopefully they get it all worked out this week. During the week I drive a company vehicle. Not having something to drive on the weekends blows.

Should be covered under warranty but we shall see. No telling on how all this works out. Zero codes on the truck and it still had issues that were most apparent at 1700 to 1800 or so rpm. Got it back today. Everything wrong with the truck was 100% due to the work that Allstar did. Demontrond put one new injector in and reinstalled the others with the correct torque. Service Manager said they were all loose. Runs perfect. 4 mpg increase in mileage. I talked to the mechanic who worked on it. He said what was occurring was the unit was dumping too much fuel or incorrect fuel mixture and that was causing the hesitation and the DPF and Turbo back pressure issues. The truck didn’t have any diagnostic codes. They looked at the warranty records to see what work had been done on the truck. It had all the injectors replaced at Allstar plus the DPF filter and something else. He said that would have fixed it had the not screwed up the injector work. Demontrond tried to work with Allstar to get the cost covered. Allstar refused and wouldn’t even talk to them after a couple of calls. I went to Ram customer service. That was a joke. They service rep did get a Tony Buzbee like interrogation from me. She kept telling me the dealers were independently owned. I kept telling her they were authorized by Ram. Finally I asked her “yes or no, can a dealer do anything they want and Ram doesn’t care or have any recourse?” She tried to answer it with something other than yes or no. Finally I got her to say no. “well that’s what is occurring. I recorded it all. That’s legal in Texas. Now I am at the SrVP of Ram Customer Service Experience for North America trying to get them to do the right thing and cover the $1,000 repair. If Ram doesn’t get Allstar to cover it then Allstar is going to get more than $1,000 of hell. I will file complaints in LA. Several of the complaints out there that cause a dealer a pretty good amount of grief. DMV, AG, BBB, etc. One is attached to their surety bond. Demontrond in Conroe was super to work with. Allstar sucks.

Back in again on Tuesday. This time P2609 code. Intake heater issue. Looked it up and it said it can be a loose bolt that can drop into a cylinder. It should be taken to the dealer immediately. “Small part, Big Problem”.
It’s a relay that’s not working. No voltage coming through it. Next day to get the part. Supposed to pick it up Friday.
Evidently 1 shop day = 5 to 7 driving days. Getting real old. Fast.
