I'm looking for some hatch covers to install in the bow and the stern of my Native Slayer 14.5, the idea being that I can have access inside the hull to install accessories and have nuts on the backside instead of using rivets or well nuts. The problem I'm running into is the size of the hatches I'm finding online are just a touch to big. I need a cover that has outside dimensions of 3" by 5". Does anyone have any recommendations of somewhere that might have something like this?

5”x 3” is tiny; you can fit your hand in that?

“ are inches
‘ are feet.

For example, this would be 18 inches x 18 inches

I like to think I can, it'll be a tight fit for sure but with those dimensions I think I can squeeze my hand in

I’m sure you’ve seen the 3” and 4” circular ones…they sell those at Academy sports.

Closest I can get to the dimensions you listed.

Found them by searching RV access small hatch

I’d modify with some wire snips to cut off those tongs.
Then I’d make it waterproof with gasket maker

I have a slayer 14.5. Where are you wanting to put the hatches?

I'd like to put one right at the bow in that area underneath where you have the hatch cover, vertically. There's a flat area in that space directly behind the carry handle, if that makes any sense.

I'll have to double check my measurements when I get home before I order it, but I think that may just work.

Close, but on the vertical space directly underneath the hatch cover you have.

I know I did a terrible job explaining the location, I managed to find a picture on my phone to give you a much better idea of where I'm talking about.

Oh ok, you have got plenty of room there! cheers What are you trying to do... battery wires to ff? If so where will they come out on the other end. thru plate under ff? or to bow lights?

I was going to try and do an anchor trolley attached with bolts and nuts on the backside, but ended up going with the YakAttack HD anchor trolley kit that had the backing plates. Following the video from YakAttack I was able to get the pulleys situated where I wanted them and feed the backing plate in using a string, fairly easy process if you take your time and are patient. However, I'm still thinking about doing the hatch because eventually I'd like to add lights, or anything else I can find to spend my money on, hah!

OP - this one might work. Says the 4" hatch has an outer diameter of 5 5/8". 4" inner diameter should be large enough to get your elbow through??? If not, you can always take off the flange when you really need to get in there to fish around.

If you can fit 7 3/4", you can go with the 6" model... this will be large enough to get your biceps through (unless you are built like a tank!).
