I'm new here to the area and just read in Bassmaster mag that Lake Nacogdoches is a pretty good lake, so I'm thinking about checking it out. Is this lake like most of the others in the area where I have to be very cautious about hitting stumps and limbs, or can I actually move around on the main lake without worrying?

Most of the lake is pretty wide open. Once you get past (north) the powerlines you should run the channels and watch out for sure.

Yep, travel with care north of the power lines.
