I bet ya'll are getting sick of hearing about the green carp of Fayette county ! After all, this is the Sunfish Forum. Well I am too, but I don't see anyone posting much about those guys that do the disappearing act this time of year...however the countdown is on...less than 2 months to go. So today I fished from7 am until 4 pm. Water temp was up to 62 degrees & the lake was packed until mid afternoon. Ran in to Tomrom & Alan (choclabdog) on the water as well, but they only fished afternoon. The best bite came around 11 am when the wind shifted from the North to the South. Thats when I caught my 1st big of 2024 in the timber. She weighed 6 lbs. 1 oz. All together I got 31 today & on average they were quite a bit bigger than last week. Doc was hoping to go with me today, but the bad knees are in control at this time. All fish were caught on Yum Dingers & Z-Man finesse baits & released back unharmed. Sure wish we would get some cloudy days where the wind isn't going crazy.

Yes Sir Steve, this is the "OFF SEASON" for Bluegill-Sunfish! Yet another solid post and some very solid fish. Good job Sir!



Side Note: For me it's been Rainbow Trout, Channel Cats, and Carp! I have caught a few Bluegill!

31 bass a day is nice. You need to think about doing tournaments. You could make some money.

Barry...Tried it once when I was in my 20s...Hated the massive amount of boats at the take off & had to quit just when they started biting to go to weigh in...vowed never again and never did. Takes the fun out of fishing ...at least for me...

I figured that was probably the case for you. I feel the same way about tournaments. It is enough work for me just applying for records.
