Decided to sleep in because of the cold start, plus the bite seems to be better later in the day on this lake. Got there at 10 am & fished til 5 pm. Expected the parking lot at Oak Thicket to be packed but was pleasantly surprised to see only 15 trucks...maybe they all finally had to go to work. Anyway, the winds were light & it was sunny all day. Water temp was mid 60s which is always a good sign, plus I saw 2 dead skunks on the way. Ended the day with 31 bass, which is the same number I caught last week. BUT...this week much bigger & better fish came to play. Got one over 4 lbs., one went 5.4 lbs., and the biggest went 7.9 lbs., which is my 3rd biggest all time. It beat my previous #3 by 1 oz. Also had lots of fish between 2 & 3 lbs. Most fish caught on shaky head set up, rigging the Yum Dinger "Texas Rig style" on a 1/4 oz Harmony jig head. Also caught some on a z-man Ned Rig in mood ring color. Would love to see some cloud cover for next trip, but will take what I can get...

Curtis...I have never caught a double digit anywhere. My PB is 9 lbs. even from FCL somewhere around 1980...
