I will be in Houston next weekend. Looking for a spot for Bank or float tube fishing. Don't particularly care what I catch just want to get out of the house get a line in the water. Small local lake or park? Don't know the city so any suggestions would help. Thanks in advance.

Depends on what area of Houston you'll be in. For example, in the Katy area you can go to Mary Jo Peckham Park, Darren Goforth Park, Towne Lake and many other neighborhood ponds.

The closest water that I see on a map is willow lake and prairie lake. Are either of them a choice?

They both look accessible, so I'd give it a shot!

I live in Houston and have never heard of either of those. Tom Bass should be good right now. Shore only

When I am not fishing I am thinking about fishing. And mostly what I should have done differently my last trip!

I would avoid Mary Jo P park. Way overpressured. The lakes you mention look like a good choice.

It was a different world when we were boys and girls....
