Headed to Caddo for the weekend, how’s the bass and crappie fishing been? Also are there any restaurants or marinas to pull boat up to and have lunch? Thanks

You can pull your boat up to Big Pines Lodge and have yourself some great catfish. BPL is just east of Caddo State Park and has a long history at Caddo.

How do you get there by water from the main lake?

If you are going to Caddo for the first time, please purchase a lake map, it is very easy to get lost on.
From the main lake, go thru the Government Ditch, as you exit you take a slight left turn into Big Cypress Bayou. We call it the "river", stay in the middle till you get up to Big Pines on the Left. It is about an 8 mile run from Johnson Ranch.

Also check out Shady Glade Cafe, it is close to the main lake.

No help with current conditions, only check water clarity after all the rains. But great lake to fish or just visit.

https://www.tommayneguidelanes.com/

Mayne sells the Caddo boat rows you can load on Lowrance, HB or Garmin units.Trails mark only the boat rows to aid navigation. Can help visually locate your next pole marker at times.

Works extremely well with units with satellite or aerial map displays.

Mayne also sells Lowrance AT5 Aerial Map with absolutely highest aerial detail of all brands. And it's great for navigating to or thru the Cypress off the rows.

NOTE: Caddo is shallow and dangerous, know where it's safe or IDLE. Many kayaks and canoes so be courteous.

Can post HDS screenshots if anyone interested.

Just got back. Lots of incoming water. Lake looked to have risen a foot or more from Thursday afternoon till Saturday afternoon. We only fished for bass and aren’t pros by any means but still managed a few and had a good time. We did some riding around and made a stop at Shady Glades for a burger, pretty good food. Thanks for the tips.

We went last Thursday through Saturday. Caught a few like you said. there was a kayak tourney and everywhere we went there were kayaks so we left them alone and looked for new places. Everywhere you look is stunning. And Shady Glades breakfast is the best!. Those biscuis!
