TPWD makes a point about sunfish at Lake Cisco: Tips & TacticsThis would be a great place to take children fishing for sunfish with minnows, nightcrawlers, or mealworms. https://tpwd.texas.gov/fishboat/fish/recreational/lakes/cisco/I may have missed it, but I have never seen any of our local sunfish chasers posting about it....looking for an excuse to haul the boat down there. sb

I see that Redear are on the TPW Cisco report. Also there are two sunfish weight records. A Bluegill and Redbreast. Both are in the 10inch range. I personally have never fished Lake Cisco. There should be some nice ones in that lake. I also have not seen any Lake Cisco post in the Bluegill/Sunfish Forum. If you get the chance to go, let us know how you do. Always love reading about other bodies I have not fished.

Lake Cisco was at one time a good redear lake, but the last time I fished it, which was some time ago, I did not get av single bite. I think the report is obsolete.
. Seventy five years of chasing the elusive sunfish.

fished the last two evenings with minnows and worm.
Fished from 4 to 8 FOW using drop shot and bobbers. Only successful presentation was drop shot worms. Nary a bite on minnows...here's the punchline: while we did catch a few blue gill, the lion's share of hook ups were Crappie (on worms) in 8 FOW.
Pics later.
