Been busy playing catch up since we got home so I haven't had time to post up! She was as low as we have ever seen her. 13' down. 2 ramps were open and one is a circus! Whoever designed the Choctaw boat ramp should be put in a padded room. Prefishing was fun and we caught fish all over on Slab Syndicate hand ties in Showtime and orange and yellow. We never felt we were on anything good considering it was Grenada. We caught 12 pounds a day pre fishing which would be 13 on the CM scale. Weather moved in Friday and Saturday and we couldn't get that weight either day. We lost good fish both days that hurt us alot with a 5 fish format, but still had a blast. Probably caught 50 fish over 2 pounds in a week and had 3 that would have been over 3 on the CM scale. Ate good and saw alot of our Grenada buddies! Had steaks one night with Patrick Stone and Eric Cagle. Those guys are great and very involved with tagging and releasing the big fish and preserving the crappie at Grenada for future generations. I'm hoping she gets some more water in her so those fish have somewhere to hide!

We came in 14th place and snatched up the last check. .29 out of the top ten and a good bite away from 6th place. Shocked we didn't tear anything up this weekend. Taking waves over the bow 100yds offshore both days. Hard to get a jig on those fish in those conditions. Head to Eufaula next month. We need to put something together there for sure. She's whipped up on last year. Rain blew our fish out the first time first day of the tourney and we just never found them the second time.

Thanks for all the folks that help us out along the way!

Nice fish! When I was working up in that area every customer within 50 miles of that Lake had a 3+ crappie on the wall.
One of them took me out wade fishing out of a Jon boat in the spring and we had a 2lb avg.limit in a couple of hours

with the wind almost always being a big factor , I wonder why so many folks still use the bassboats for tourney fishing crappie . on big lakes in the wind. a deep vee, heavy fiberglass walleye style boat with plenty of weight in the front is a very different situation.. no waves coming over the bow, ALOT less bucking up and down and getting blown off your spot, more confidence to run from one area of the lake, thru hell and highwater and not worrying abt getting swamped.. trolling motor less likely to come out of the water from the boat rising with the waves and scaring off the fish,.,
I can recall years back, teams like Capps and Coleman used to partially flood thier boats, to make it heavier in the wind, to try and minimize getting bucked around. I think the way they primarily fished, with long rods slow trolling off the bow, kind of made them stick to a particular style boat.
when the wind kicks up, everybody and thier brother runs to the wind protected banklines, so im sure its crowded on all of the good banklines when many teams are fishing and the fish get spooked, and harder to catch.

COMING SOON! .. THE STICKLE HOOK " the stay level sickle hook". sits level in the water with all knots.! Provides better hook sets and more natural jigging motion. No more adjusting the knot, gluing , or tying loop knots that cause the hook point to tangle in the loop, or worse knick the line.. The jighook that will make all others obsolete !

I hear that lake is a incredible fishery . Todd Huckabee likes to use large baits there.,, the YUM wooley bugger comes to mind.,

You can’t chase roaming fish down in a heavy walleye boat and it gets hung on everything!! It is comfortable on trips though, but like pulling a box trailer down the highway! hammer
