They've (Mercury) had that out for a while. I figure boats will eventually go all electric and it may not be with lithium technology and more than likely something that hasn't even been invented yet.
Waaaaaaay down the road I see a bass fisherman fishing out of the same vehicle that he arrived at the lake in and it probably won't even touch the water or ground unless it is shut off. It won't be driven by any sort of propulsion system that produces thrust. Fish finders will be a some sort of heads up display that will produce data that makes FFS look like it's from the stone age.
I base this off how fast technology is growing and the amount of advancement I've seen in my lifetime plus the rate everything seems to be advancing. I know there are a lot of things out there right now that if you'd told me 20 years ago they'd exist, I would have laughed in your face.

I bet the fish sense that its an electric boat and they want to help the environment so they bite your lure in support.

Hover disks will be the future. No need for motors in the water.
Sneaking up on fish will be super easy

Since most tournament rules state: "No trolling with the combustion engine is allowed," this will be a game changer to get that extra few feet out of a deep diving crankbait on a point. Use your side imaging to find fish to drive over, mount your FFS backwards (RFS?) and then just cruise until you see a fish lock on. As simple as shooting deer off a feeder. bolt

I bought my last boat in 2018 because Mercury announced it was halting the production of 2 strokes... By the time they've even come close to making these viable I'll be 6 foot under pushing daisies... So a hard no... Dan
