When I drop the trolling motor it turns to the right and locks up. turned it off and reset motor to the center and turned it back on and immediately turn all the way right and locked up.

I am no expert; I know of a Terrova that did that, and it was the board.

The steering sensor needs replacing. Sometimes you can simply clean the contacts and it will work again, at least for a while.
