Genuinely curious on what the justification for that thought process consists of?

most have actually had to alter their day to day lives and make sacrifices for several reasons

I'm told the NTMWB board of directors had a meeting yesterday that was livestreamed and at that meeting they agreed to the upcoming opening.

Meeting minutes will be posted at a later date where you can read all the details. The board voted in favor of the opening with no dissenting votes on File #24-6005 Agenda #G - Future Opening and Operation of Public Recreational Areas and Associated Facilities on Bois d’Arc Lake; Resolution No. 24-11.

The next phase will be for NTMWD, TPWD, and Fannin County to finish clearing any hazards and put in signage before setting an official opening date.

We stayed on south banks and it was rough there too. Up in feeder creeks better.

Recreational Access Coming Soon.
Bois d'Arc Lake is not yet open for recreation or boat access, but preparations are underway to open the lake to the public. Many factors are involved in ensuring a new lake is ready to open to the public including lake levels rising for sustained use of the public boat ramps, conditions on the lake supporting safe recreation, and coordination with law enforcement and emergency response agencies. North Texas Municipal Water District will update this website when Bois d’Arc Lake is open to the public.
