 Question about Motor guide xi-5 remotes

I have an older Motor Guide Xi-5 trolling motor. The remote that came with it is the old 5 button style keyfob. Model 001009305
I need a new remote and I was wondering if I can use the new style keyfob with the spot lock function, or will the motor only work with the old style 5 button remote?
