I have a Lowrance Ghost trolling motor that came on a used boat I bought last year. When deployed last night the motor stutters and twitches when small movements are made. It is especially prevalent when in anchor mode as it is constantly adjusting. A full fast movement works normally.

Hard to see the vibrations in the video but it shakes quite alot and is incredibly noisy. No bass near this boat for sure.

Thanks for any advice.

Definitely not normal, sounds like some is slipping or stripped. 3 separate calibrations you need to try, I doubt that’s it though. You should be able to find them on the lowrance website. Possible it’s out of sync, hope so anyway.

Do both of these.

Mine did same thing. Head of trolling motor not at correct position/angle in stowed position. Affects motor operation when deployed. Go to your owners manual and read through the mounting procedures.

@T Bird, was that at the initial mounting or did it happen later after some useage? This is the first instance after nearly a year of use for me with this used motor.

It was after and my own doing. I manually rotated head in the stowed position and that's when it started doing exactly what you described when deployed. If your head angle was close to the limit when mounted it may have rotated just enough over time/use/trailering to have thrown it out of whack.
