Had a chance to fish the Tennessee river with Catfish Tim this week. I grew up in north Alabama, but moved 40 years ago, and had not fished there since. Guntersville area was just as pretty as I remember it, and we had a great time fishing with Josh Brown at Backwoods Fishing.
The weather was a challenge to say the least.. Had wind - WIND and wind… along with a storm and cold front. Fought 3-4’roller waves about the whole time, but Josh is a great guide and hard worker… he refused to quit and we put some nice fish in the boat when a lot of people stayed home. We did make his Sea Ark 240 work some too! I had a 45.7 and Tim had a 62.3 for big fish honors this time. I had one on for a short fight before it spit the hook, that was a monster on the graph… but we will never know. Had several 20’s and a few 30’s to go with these.
This was a great trip, and just makes you want to go back! Fun, fellowship and learning all in one. Makes work worth it….
Will try to post some pictures soon. Josh has some up on this Backwoods FB page.

I saw the weather forecast over in AL last week as I knew that Catfish Tim and yourself were heading that way. It looked absolutely atrocious!
You guys did incredibly well snagging those big fish in those conditions.
Glad you got both to enjoy some fellowship together in that most beautiful place. Catching big fish was just the bonus I'm sure.

Was this on a Saturday? It seems M-F we have nice weather, then it gets nasty again for the weekend.
He is truly a sick individual.

Nut,
We drove in last Monday, fished Tuesday before the storm that night - cold front, then Wednesday and Thursday after the front. Wind just would not let up, along with the temperature and pressure changes… but still had a good time!

Ken, I couldn't believe the bad luck on the timing of that weather. You guys did one heck of a good job with those conditions. I hope you get to go back and catch it when everything is right. You'll wear yourself out fishing with Josh. He's one of the best in that entire region. I know you guys still got to enjoy the time. I know Josh appreciated everything that came with a guide trip from someone from TX....
