"Life is a matter of luck and the odds of success are in no way enhanced by extreme caution." - Erich Topp, German U-boat Commander, 1943.

When in doubt, set the hook.

I tell people all the time that a 2lb crappie is at the end of it's life cycle so keeping him/her is not a big deal.

Based on how short they live, I think they’re all on the end of their life cycle.

I wonder if/if not genetics are involved. Do big crappie produce more big crappie. Do they grow faster, bigger and live longer the "average Joe" crappie. Nothing to substanciate this, but "what if"!

a wise man once told me, " if you cannot put a number on it , you dont know what your talking about.
where is the data, where are the studies? supposedly a crappie can be aged by counting the rings that grow around the eye sockets. have any crappie been grown in captivity to see how everything actually works?

COMING SOON! .. THE STICKLE HOOK " the stay level sickle hook". sits level in the water with all knots.! Provides better hook sets and more natural jigging motion. No more adjusting the knot, gluing , or tying loop knots that cause the hook point to tangle in the loop, or worse knick the line.. The jighook that will make all others obsolete !
