time, who/what company are you using these days? I've been using a Ram dealership in Kansas City my sister's son is the Service Manager for, the first couple of changes(free of course). But I won't be headed back that way anytime soon.
Last oil change I paid for in another truck was Take 5 and they nearly cost me a new engine leaving my drain plug loose.

And for those do it yourselfers, congrats you keep on doing you. I'm an old and have changed my oil too many times to remember. I'm paying to have it done these days.

Last couple times I have used KwikKar in FloMo. I like that I can watch the happenings from the waiting area. They also mentioned that the drain plug on my 2020 F-150 is plastic and I might want to change it every other oil change.

I use Steve King automotive in Carrollton, by no means a good deal. But I would trust them with anything.

I used take 5 once. The change was fine but they use a proprietary oil filter. That worries me. I'll do my own until I can't.

I still go to the Toyota dealership in Grapevine. Convenient because if other services they will shuttle me back and forth. Usually get a coupon in the mail or e-mail that helps keep it close to what oil change places charge.

Different places, whenever the urge strikes me.

I gotta ask what that is? Its my understanding a lot of quicklube places use cheap oil filters of poor construction but they usually still fit the application. Finding someone who uses quality filters is the important part.

Take 5 took over a local oil change shop and dramatically increased the price. I now use my local dealership. Surprisingly they were 20 dollars cheaper and washed my vehicle. No more Take 5 for me.

I run mobile one and change every 10k. A quality filter is a must. Just because it fits doesn't make it good.

Is the “proprietary” filter a type of one size fits all filter that they’ve designed? I use baldwin, wix, or motorcraft just depending on what has the best price point. Purolator also makes a good filter (pretty sure they manufacture the motorcrafts) but they’re kind of hard to find.

Its not the fit I object to, it's the quality. They didn't design it, they have someone third party it.

Had a dealer service/maintenace contract on my truck that ran out last year and have used Walmart the last 2 times with no known problems.

Synthetic filters take more particulates out than paper filters, up to twice as much. Other than that, the longer a filter is in your car the better it filters until it slows down from being too full.
10k is a good reference point for most cars. Some are designed to have longer change intervals.

Got a local shop. Owner is there in the thick of it, everyday. They do a great job, fairly quick and the vehicle comes out clean.
Look for a local and build a relationship.

Cut with her golden oars the silver stream,
And greedily devour the treacherous bait.
