I used some common hardware store "cheap" needle nose pliers for my first excursion to the saltwater since I was 'testing the waters".

Looking at reviews online I see mixed reviews which in some cases look like irrational bad users commenting. I see some in aluminum that are ~$60 and various steel versions in the ~$20 range.

These Mustad "golf handle" plier's seem reasonable at ~$25 for 420-stainless with Nickel plating. Should I look somewhere else for good SALTWATER PLIERS in the $20~$30 range?

Thanks!
Sid

I get mine off of EBay or in garage sales. As long as they are marked stainless they seem to work. I use 6” and 8” for different situations.

I think I bought mine at Academy... You might consider a pair with split ring option as well. They do come in handy.

I carry 8" hemostats with side cutters. Cheap and effective.

$13 on amazon

Aluminum has always fared better than SS in the salt for me. If you are wading, the lanyard is essential.
