The load was going west to Gatesville. Some of the pics I saw. The pickup that was crushed. Was facing east towards Temple on then wrong side of the road. Between then load and guard rail. Did this have anything to do with the wreck. Who know's.

Not sure what that could have been???
Most loads max out at 45,000

Looks like they had 5-6 trailers coupled together hauling this load.

I have driven many miles with flatbed trailers hauling loads. I have a son who drives heavy haul. My first question would be how it came untied down. Something broken and how did it just rolled off trailer. Their will be questions that need answer that is going to make for a lot of money changing hands.

It looked like a modular trailer to me. I counted 14 axels in one shot from the news segment, but I could not see the front or the back from the camera angle.

Local news this morning at 6:30 said it was still closed. Unless they cut it into smaller pieces, it's going to take another specialized trailer and a couple of cranes to move it.

At least I can still get to my boat storage and the ramp.

DW talked about it last night. Years ago we dodged similar bullet. Semi hauling concrete pipe. Drove uphill to stop sign on outside of sharpish curve, saw truck go by thinking we'd be in deep dewddew if that load rolled off. Very next too-similar curve the load rolls off the trailer. I swear we both sucked the car seat up to our livers. Took a l o n g time for our pulses to go down.

Fishing, a man knows a serenity of soul and peace of mind that he finds in doing nothing else, and it makes no difference whether or not he catches anything. The mind of a true fisherman is not on petty subjects.

Hope I’m wrong but it looks like they didn’t have the load tied to the trailer at all. Every chain in this picture is tied to the shipping steel saddle, which is used only to keep all the piping and ladder clips from sitting on the trailer, and the saddle is not attached to the trailer. You can look down the full length of the vessel and there isn’t a chain attached to the trailer anywhere, and I don’t see any on the ground either.

oversize loads are permitted by the states on routes not drivers or trucking companies

The drivers are responsible for loads and strapping down, so no matter what they find most of this will land on the driver unless some circumstances that would chance that.
you are responsible for the load. I don't see any circumstances the company who allowed them to pick it up, would have let it out with no straps on this kind of load.

I would think its a load that shifted and straps failed, whether chains or any other tie down. They may not have had enough straps on the load. These loads are not sent out with amateur drivers out of some truck driving school. The driver either got lazy or straps failed or driver tried to avoid a wreck by maybe the cars who were under the load.
something smells with this to me

lol, you should donate them to that trucking company because after the insurance settles and the lawsuits, they’re going to need them.
